Administration

b-mersman-photo_origBrandon M. Mersman was appointed as Bronson's City Manager in July of 2015. The City Manager is the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) of the City, appointed by the City Council. The City Manager is responsible for the day-to-day activities of the City, provides overall direction to and is responsible for the management, staffing, administration and operation of all City Departments. It is the duty of the City Manager to provide reports to the Council in regard to ongoing activities within the City as well as evaluating services and making recommendations for the improvement of operations. The City Manager also provides an annual recommendation for the City's budget.  In addition to the traditional duties of City Manager, Brandon also works on projects with local businesses and business prospects to encourage economic development in the City. The City Manager also serves as the Planning/Zoning Administrator.

Brandon serves on the Boards of Directors for the Branch County Economic Growth Alliance (BCEGA), Branch Area Transit Authority (BATA), Bronson Chamber of Commerce, Branch County E-911, and is the vice-president of the Bronson Community Foundation. Brandon is also a member of the Bronson Kiwanis Club.

Originally from Holland, Michigan, Brandon holds a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree from Grand Valley State University and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Hope College in Holland, Michigan.
