Golf Cart Ordinance

Golf Carts on Public Streets:

The Bronson City Council approved golf carts on public streets on November 13, 2023. There are several safety requirements that must be met to be approved. A copy of the ordinance and the requirements are available at the City Office. The golf cart must be registered through the Police Department. The cost is $20 per driver of the registered golf cart. See below for the registration form, state law, and City ordinance. Carts are not allowed on state highways including US-12. Carts may only cross US-12 at a traffic light. See ordinance for more regulations. 

Process:
1. Fill out the registration form and return to City Hall- Each driver of the cart must also register 
2. Pay fee (per driver of cart) $20
3. Police Department will contact you to perform an inspection of the cart to make sure it meets safety and ordinance requirements.
4. Registration sticker will be issued for the calendar year if it passes inspection.
5. Registration must renewed annually for each driver.
